Schefferville Development Corporation
The Schefferville Development Corporation is committed to social and community development and acts as a social development committee. Its activities are part of the broader initiative of the Collectif de développement social de la Côte-Nord. The priority issues are:
- Attractiveness and retention of residents (including housing, recreation, food security)
- Community development and economic diversification (including downtown revitalization)
- Effective and transparent partnership governance (including networking with the rest of Côte-Nord and close partnership with the two Indigenous communities)

- Career fair
- Continuing the preventive-approach process to stimulate language development
- Report on the PPNE study, information sharing, and integration workshops
- Sharing tools on the first school transition and enhancing current measures
- Series of workshops on diversity and inclusion
- Continuing targeted interventions for adolescent and men’s health
- Deliver workshops to understand the Active Transportation Master Plan, take ownership of it, and prioritize actions

- Fermont en folie event: gathering to showcase the wide range of local services, build social connections, and have fun
- Update and share the local resource directory
- Conference on mental health and addictions
- New service offering for reading and musical awakening for children aged 0–5
- Active Transportation Master Plan
- Stimulating language skills: workshops for parents, training for CPE educators, and personalized language-stimulation support at the CPE
